ReplyDeleteGene Therapy: In a country like Bangladesh, people welcome and embrace all kinds of technology, sometimes without knowing the positive and negative effects. They think that the more newer, the better or the more expensive, the more possibility of success, but in my opinion since gene therapy has quite a few stages of expensive operations I think most of our people are not quite fit or financially ready for this technology. So I would suggest that we should bring and use Gene Therapy after successful implementation of it in developed countries like USA and wait for change in tide. Then we will be able to cure the most deadly diseases like AIDS (Hepatitis C), Lung Cancer, Hepatitis B etc. exist in Bangladesh
ReplyDelete3-d Printing: I think it has a very good future in a country like Bangladesh. Manufacturers can buy this high efficiency machine rather hiring 10-20 workers, which will increase unemployment, minimize manufacturing location and cost, but we must find a win-win solution. We will be able to improve our X-ray scanners for security issues, processing of images taken from CCTVs, photography and other useful materials we buy and use in our daily life. I think the price of the products won't be so high, but it will be saturated after a while, I mean we would have to adjust ourselves to this new trend.

One of the state-of-the-art technological inventions is 3D printing. But the use of this newer technology is still at the initial stage. It will bring a great change in manufacture of various industrial products as it can make replica of almost anything using sophisticated raw materials. The western countries should go on with further experiments on this. 3D printing can be very useful in Bangladesh. Doctors like plastic surgeons, burn unit physicians, and orthopedic surgeons can utilize the invention for flawless treatment; consumers can get items according to their demand and so on. On the contrary criminals and terrorists can misuse the technology for evil purpose.
ReplyDeleteGene therapy is great for treatment of cancer like leukemia and other types. It can reduce pain, cost and time. But there may be some side effects or other consequences which scientists and doctors do not know yet. In context of Bangladesh it will help patients a lot because the most of them are insolvent to fight against cancer. Govt. patronization is necessary to bring such technology in our country.

3D Printing: 3D printing is most recent medical technology in the world. If we use this technology in Bangladesh the following medical sector can be improved:
ReplyDelete1. Surgery: The use of 3D printing in surgery has paved the way for more accuracy in complicated operations, with a greater degree of success.
2. Facial reconstructive surgery: When a patient has suffered considerable damage to his or her facial features, reconstructive surgeons now make use of 3D printers to create models out of which the prosthetics or the artificial skin will be made.
3. Tissue and organ engineering: Tissue engineering and artificial organ construction have now turned to 3D printers to synthesize entire tissues and organs.
We can conclude from the above information, if we implement the 3D printing in Bangladesh and consider the cost of this technology then the medical services sector of Bangladesh will be a successful sector.
Gene Therapy: Gene therapy is a revolution of Medical Science in the world. Specifically, the treatment was targeted to acute lymphoblastic leukemia, one of the nastiest blood cancers out there, and is using the popular method of retraining the body’s immune system to hunt down and kill cancer.
But if we go for the Side-effect profile, then we can see It isn’t 100% effective. Of the five patients tested, one relapsed and died due to it. On the other hand, effective rate is 80% and it is not possible for Chronic lymphoblastic leukemia. Dr. Brentjens said, "More work is needed to determine how best to use the treatment in leukemia patients".Further more, Gene therapy is very much expensive.
That's why, Gene therapy should be implemented in Bangladesh as a poor country followed by more research, clinical trials etc.

3D printing introduces us to a new era of printing where precision and accuracy is very vital. 3D printing technology can be effectively used to produce delicate machine parts. Automobile engines, aircraft or jet engines require some precisely made machine parts like pistons, crank shafts, fly wheel etc. 3D printing can be very effective to produce these kinds of parts in Bangladesh.
ReplyDeleteGene therapy can be a lighthouse for cancer patients like leukemia. The conventional chemotherapy is not very effective for cancer patients and its side effects are sometimes very severe. The number of cancer patients in Bangladesh is very high. So if the research on Gene therapy is successful then treatment of many cancer patients can be done in Bangladesh.

3D printing is a process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model. 3D printing is achieved using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes.3D printing is considered distinct from traditional machining techniques, which mostly rely on the removal of material by methods such as cutting or drilling (subtractive processes).A materials printer usually performs 3D printing processes using digital technology. Since the start of the twenty-first century there has been a large growth in the sales of these machines, and their price has dropped substantially. The technology is used in jewelry, footwear, industrial design, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), automotive, aerospace, dental and medical industries, education, geographic information systems, civil engineering, and many other fields.
ReplyDeleteGene therapy is the use of DNA as a pharmaceutical agent to treat disease. It derives its name from the idea that DNA can be used to supplement or alter genes within an individual's cells as a therapy to treat disease. The most common form of gene therapy involves using DNA that encodes a functional, therapeutic gene to replace a mutated gene.In curing lethal diseases like cancer, leukemia it has brought a revolution. In countries like Bangladesh where the rate of blood cancer patients are increasing at an alarming rate this technology can bring a radical development regarding treatment.

ReplyDeleteGene therapy is a technique for correcting defective genes responsible for disease development that will save human life which are carried on chromosomes, are the basic physical and functional units of heredity. Genes are specific sequences of bases that encode instructions on how to make proteins. Although genes get a lot of attention, it’s the proteins that perform most life functions and even make up the majority of cellular structures. However, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have not yet approved any human gene therapy product for sale. Current gene therapy is experimental and has not proven very successful in clinical trials.
